Wooden accessories are a natural product and hygroscopic. The best storage conditions prevail at room humidity 45 - 60%. Higher moisture swelling of the wood, resulting in damage in the lower tree to wither and creates smaller or larger cracks. Wood work can be reduced by maintaining the recommended conditions, eg. Using humidifiers in the winter, but there is no way to be completely ruled out.
